California CCW Initial Class

BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR CLASS!

 

NOTE:

This class is only for Tehama County residents, including the cities of Red Bluff, and Corning, Butte County, and Shasta County

 

The California initial Concealed Carried Weapons (CCW) class is the class you need to get your first CCW.

  This class is a 16 hour class that is typically taught on a Saturday and Sunday.   We teach this class 1-2 times per month.

This class is geared for all shooters, new or seasoned.  New shooters and shooters with new guns, this is a perfect venue to start out your shooting skills.  We take the time needed to show you the fundamentals and get you on your way to learning the safe and correct way to use your firearms

Elements taught in the classroom consist of the following:

 

  • Firearms safety
  • Resposability
  • Legal use of deadly force
  • New firearms laws
  • And many others
  • Information and paperwork you need to obtain a non-resident multi-state CCW permit is included with this class

Elements taught during at the shooting range consist of the following:

.

  • Sight alignment/Sight picture
  • Grip Stance and Draw
  • Multiple shot placement/Multiple target acquisition
  • Many other shooting skills that will improve your gun handling

What you will need:

Classroom:

Everything you will need is provided.  Please bring a lunch and anything you will need to get your through the day.

Range: 

Any guns you want to put on your permit. (Red Bluff PD up to 5 guns, most other issuing cities and counties allow 4-5 guns)

25 rounds of ammunition per gun (50 rounds if you are only shooting one gun)  Please bring extra ammo!

Eye and ear protection (prescription and sunglasses okay)

Belt holsters that fit your guns (we teach from the holster, and some loaners are available)

A sturdy Belt and pants with belt loops

Suitable clothing for the days weather, food, drinks, chair,something to cover your gear if it rains,  etc. 

(NOTE)  No open top shoes or low cut shirts!  Flying brass is very hot!

Tehama Shooters Shooting Range,

26950 Manton Rd, Paynes Creek, CA.  (Call for directions in you don’t have GPS)

Please be at the range no later than 7:45am

 

Cost of class is $295.00 and includes range fees and targets.

Venue for range day will be the Tehama Shooter’s Association Shooting Range, 26950 Manton Rd. Paynes Creek, CA.

 

Start time is 7:45am both days

 

Directions to range:

Take hiway 36 East off of Antelope Blvd., turn left at Dales Station (Manton Rd.), drive aprox 4.7 miles.  Gate is on the left and has a sign with the address on the fence.
